Final Blog

Finally! Our project has come to an end. It was fun while it lasted. We enjoyed eating and cooking, so  my group and I came to a decision and named our MAD project "Making Healthier Choices." We had big things in mind. But with a small time frame we had to get cooking. We chose to make a difference in the lives of teenagers. Living a healthy lifestyle is a problem that caught our attention. We started off with our pre-survey. From our survey, we have learned that numerous teens of our generation doesn't spend time to help their parents in the kitchen or don't know how to cook at all. We had the right audience for our project. James, Matthew, and I thought of creating a 3 episode series of cooking tutorials. The foods we cooked was based on our survey. Our survey also asked to name 3 common ingredients found at home. On our first video of three, we made a tutorial on a salad. With common ingredients found at home such as lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and shrimp. We also added a small amount of ranch dressing. On our second video, we made an omelette. Eggs and ham are typical meals for breakfast. On our survey we had a lot of spam everywhere. Instead of using spam, we used ham. We had a finished product of a ham and cheese omelette. For our last video, we made a graham cake. It consisted layers of graham crackers, condensed milk, and bananas. We thought that making a dessert with a fruit would be interesting. I believe that our project was a success. We had a fair amount of views on our videos. We made a difference in their lives because now they know that it takes only a few minutes to make a simple and healthy meal. We didn't only want to change the lives of our audience, but to also inspire them to make a difference. If I were to do this again, I would continue to make videos and post it up on YouTube, because it is easier for people to access. If I were to do this again differently, it would be to try other complex meals, because sometimes the complex meals are the best meals. And I have the right group to do it again.

Live life to the fullest because life is short. Live healthy and eat healthy. Add some exercises to your diet and stay active.

8th blog

- We have accomplished on filming the three videos of our series. It didn't take up much of our time as we thought it would be. It was easy to do as long as you stay on task. We edited our videos so that it would be easy to understand and easy to follow along. We also uploaded our first episode of our series on YouTube. Hopefully we get a good amount of views so they will benefit from it.
- This week nothing went wrong. Everything went smoothly according to our plan.
- Time management was a challenge because we had other things to do before and after prior to our meet up. We tried to get everything done in a span of 5 hours and we were able to complete it.
- Teamwork plays an important role for this week. It was all about helping each other out. Chipping in for the materials and ingredients was essential. Without our materials and ingredients we won't be able to complete anything.
- I would say my cooking skills improved. To be honest, cooking is pretty fun. Especially if you get to eat it after and it tastes good. You'll have the feeling of hard work paid off.
- We are currently on track for an on time delivery.
- We don't need any adjustments to our timeline
- My next action is to upload our second video of our series. Also we will be checking how many views, likes, and comments we have.

7th blog

- This week we have accomplished for planning on what we will cook. We chose meals that are easy to prepare and easy to find at home. We also planned out on what we will be needing. For example, we will be needing some ingredients, stoves, and pans.
- What went wrong was that we were supposed to video over the spring break but we had a very tight schedule. We didn't have time to do it. We had other important matters to care of. It wouldn't be fair if one couldn't show up. It's a group effort.
- Time management was challenging. We have been so busy in past few days. Now we have more busy days ahead of us. But we are trying our best to clear up our schedule.
- I have learned that communication plays a vital role in this Make a difference project. Communication does not only happen between our group but we also try to reach out to our audience.
- I would say that my shopping skills improved over the past week. I really don't know how moms do it but they are really good at it. I have to write a list of things that we will need to start cooking and film. Moms just makes it easy like they memorize the things that they will need.
- We are not on track for an on time delivery due to our conflicting schedules last weekend.
- We will adjust our dates for posting our videos because we will be filming on Sunday which was also changed. Then will put up our post survey after all three videos are released.
-My next action is to shop for other things and ingredients that we will need. Then we will start cooking as we film at the same time. It will be fun.

6th blog

- We accomplished finalizing our planning for Monday. During this spring break, we would have the time to work on our make a difference project without any conflicting schedules.
- The JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge which is currently happening right now on our spring break, which has taken up most of our time to complete something.
- The challenge we faced is that the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge is in the way.
- We learned that prior planning would have prevented piss poor performance. Then our project would have been done even before the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge.
- We improved on working harder and faster. At first we didn't pay much attention to our project but now that time is moving quick we have to move quick as well.
- We are currently on track for an on time delivery. As long as we follow our schedule.
- Our timeline does not need any adjustments. We are doing okay
- My next action is to meet up on Monday to gather all the materials and ingredients. Then we will start filming our first episode of three.

5th blog

- We have accomplished on making revisions on our timeline and making final decisions. Maybe with our revisions made we will be able to meet, since spring break is coming up so we can work on it.
- The month of April is a really busy month for our group. So we had to find and set a perfect day for us to film our videos for the series.
- The challenge we've faced is trying to clear up our schedule. We're trying to make time to do our proposal. We know that we'll be busy with other things but our proposal is important as well.
- I learned that it is all about time management. Don't wait until the last minute because last minute stuff don't always turn out to be great.
- I would say my decision making and time management skills has improved over the past week. We had set our priorities on finishing up our proposal before our busy schedules ahead of us.
- I think we are on track for an on-time delivery. As long as we follow our timeline then we will be fine.
- We already made changes to our timeline. Our changes will give us more time to complete our proposal despite our conflicting schedules.
- My next action is to plan on what meals we are going to prepare and cook. Looking back on our Google forms survey will surely help us on what meal we should prepare.

4th blog

- We have accomplished spreading out the word on filling out our survey and we were able to get a good amount of feedback from different people. We have gone over our survey to gather information on what we should do next.
- As of right now, nothing has gone wrong with our project.
- The challenges we've faced is that we have little time together, which gives us a difficult time to get our work done.
- We learned that we don't have much time if we keep delaying our schedules. We can't waste time.
- Over the past week, I would say that our time management skills improved. This week we did what we needed to do and that will help us be on time for our timeline.
- We are currently on track for an on-time delivery.
- We already made adjustments to our timeline so that we can be on time for delivery.
- My next action is to start gathering the materials and ingredients we will need. Then we could start filming for the first part of our video series.

3rd blog

- This week we have accomplished on completing our online survey through google forms. We will be sharing the link on our social media accounts for teens to fill out. This will give us a feedback on how we should start on our first video of the series.
- Nothing has gone wrong. We already fixed the problem on our timeline because we didn't follow our schedule last week.
- This week's challenge would be not being able to meet up and talk about our project much. This week we only had 3 days of school, which went by fast, I mean I guess it is great to be on a 4 day weekend. OH YEAH! *YES*
- I learned how to use google forms. Google forms is actually very easy to use. It also makes surveys easy to complete and easy to access.
- I would say my communication skills improved over the past week because I would contact my group, and I kept reminding them that we need to complete our survey by this date and things like that. And we were able to get it done.
- We are currently on track for an on time delivery
- We made the changes on our timeline last week, but this week we don't need any adjustments.
- My next action is to have a count of how many people took our survey and how will this survey be able to help on what we should do next. Completion of this survey will get our bodies to gravitate to the food we'll create.

2nd blog

- We have accomplished working on our elevator pitch. I think we did our best on enchanting our audience, and getting that money from Bill Gates.
- We totally forgot to do our online survey through google forms, which was supposed to be done on Wednesday. We can't move on without our survey being filled out.
- This week was challenging because it was a busy week for our group to meet up and work on our proposal. We didn't have time to work on our survey.
- I learned that we need to always remind ourselves about the timeline that we must follow so that there won't be any problems.
- I would say that my advertising and persuasion skills improved because persuading Bill Gates to support our proposal is pretty tough to do with just 30 seconds to convince him.
- As of right now, I would say that we won't be on time for delivery because we forgot to do our online survey which makes us behind now.
- My group and I planned to push back our timeline one week ahead. This will give us time to work on our online survey through google forms and put it out for our audience to fill out.
- My next action is to work on our online survey so we can get started with our video series and get cooking.

1st blog

- My group and I have accomplished on getting our proposal approved, and we can start executing.
- What has gone wrong? So far nothing has gone wrong because we haven't start our video until next week
- We encountered one challenge, and that was finding our mentor. It was tough to find one at first but our group brought up the idea of Ms. Forti being our mentor since she is a PE teacher.
- I learned that prior planning prevents piss poor performance. Planning ahead is way better than last minute work.
- I would say my communication skills have improved. Since we don't always see each other every minute of the day, communication is key. Being able to communicate even wherever is important to get the job done.
- We are currently on track for an on-time delivery.
- As of right now, we don't need any adjustments to our timeline.
- My next action is to create our online survey through google forms then put it out to our audience. This survey will help us on what type of dish we need to make for our video series. Not everyone has the same materials or ingredients at home so by having a good amount of vote will help.
